Casa das Caralhotas is a snack bar, cafetaria, wine – sangria bar and petiscos (tapas) restaurant in the culinary hearth of Almeirim.
Casa das Caralhotas offers many local Almeirim specialities in an informal typically modern Portuguese snack bar surrounding.
It’s specialized in snacks, sandwiches and petiscos (tapas) and some very special drinks, regional wines and a very nice Sangria.
The name Caralhotas comes from a local Almeirim bread that is unique to the town of Almeirim and is often served with grilled meat or Chourico. Casa das Caralhotas serves the Caralhota in different ways but mostly with the famous Bifana which is a Portuguese grilled steak in the Caralhota bread bun.
Casa das Carolhatas is located in the new build part of the main restaurant district across the street from the bullfighting ring and close to the wine cooperative of Almeirim.
Casa das Caralhotas also serves a nice Sopa da Pedra, the soup that gave Almeirim it’s culinary roots and has helped it to grow to be the heart of modern day dining out and regional food in Ribatejo.
