NOTE: As off 2016 Flyboard Portugal is extended with Jet pack and Hoverboard, What is it? Check out this promotional video and try it with us, in Nazare or for group events in other location of Portugal as long as there is water and its deep enough!
Flyboard Portugal is a the newest most exciting activity that has hit the Portuguese waters in the last few years! Flyboard consist of standing on a board (with attached boots) that is connected to a long hose that in turn is connected to a jet ski.
The hose sends water to the board which than come out under the board with great pressure that can propel the flyboarder up to 14 meters into the air and 2.5 meter under the water. It is possibly fast becoming one of the most popular activities both on certain coast beaches as it is more inland in the lakes of Portugal. All it needs is a safe environment and deep enough water!
The sport is accessible to almost everyone above the age of 16 and it has a very fast and easy learning curve which guarantees that even the least sporty of us will manage at least some flying and diving in even the first 15 minutes of practising this sport for the first time!
Flyboard was invented in 2012 by Frank Zapata as he managed to stabilize the board so that it would go vertically into the air and remain so using hand balancers.
Flyboarding in Portugal will mean wearing a wet suit and a helmet for safety and if the weather and water conditions allow, it can be practised all year round. Our main providers at the moment are situated in the Algarve and in Nazare on the west coast but for groups we can organize this activity anywhere in Portugal where the water is safe and the conditions right.
