On our travels to and through Tomar, we visit all the restaurants we come across. Each has it’s own uniqueness and some are more interesting than others, some are exceptional, some are down right tourist traps.
We want to bring you the best ones, be it luxurious, trendy, tourist, hidden or budget.
Jardim restaurant is a really nice restaurant in one of the main old city streets of Tomar, Rua Silva Magalhães. The restaurant recently moved to the other side of the street into a much bigger and nicer building.
The restaurant is spread throughout 4 different areas of which 3 dining rooms, each with their own atmosphere and feel and one dining area in the internal garden which also has an antique fountain.
On warm days this is our favourite place to eat as it is situated under grape vines, which keep it cool and comfortable.
The menu is varied playing with dishes both local and traditional and international and modern and the food is excellent.
The street is full of little art shops, second hand and antique shops and a various restaurants.
The owners are enthusiastic, friendly and caring. The food is very good always fresh and well prepared and they often add good vegetarian choices to their daily changing dishes.
They offer very affordable dishes and do this very well.
Nice regional wines to choose from and a small terrace outside for hotter days in the shady Silva Magalhães street!
To taste Portuguese food, hospitality and ambiance we can recommend Restaurante Jardim.
