The Paiva walkways or Passadiços De Paiva in the Arouca geological park are wooden raised walkways stretching 8 kilometers along the Paiva river. The walkways are a unique way to see the intense flora and fauna of the area.
The path stretches down the mountain as it follows the river and its waterfalls. Along the way the river beaches of Areinho, Vau, and Espiunca provide area for rest and relaxation. The journey takes you through geology, biology and archeology that will leave a lasting impression of this ancient natural reserve.
In the winter white water rafting is an exciting activity for the adventurers visiting the area and all year round canyoning, canoeing, survival games and hiking are favourite activities for any age.
