Portuguese traditional sailing adventures for groups, Troia

Location: Troia

Troia sailing

The tradition of sailing is a traditions that has long roots in the Portuguese waters inherited from Spain before Portugal became a country, Portugal’s first navy reaches back to the early middle ages and its large fishing industry created traditional boats with own capacities and styles in the different coastal and internal water regions of Portugal.

In Troia, an electro technical engineer named João Barbas fed his passion for traditional Portuguese sail boats and the Portuguese sailing heritage by escaping the city to promote his passion.

He now successfully runs a company all about his conviction and love of the water and its heritage. Together with 4 associates and fully licensed skippers, within the conservation of the Portuguese maritime heritage, they recovered two Sal Galleons  traditional sail boats, the Riquitum and Pego do Altar.
