San Miguel is one of the oldest parishes in Lisbon set in the oldest district of Alfama.
San Miguel is one the most authentic fado districts of Lisbon and you’ll find tourists and locals alike climbing the narrow streets and stairs in search of the better fado experience.
The church of San Miguel de Alfama is seldom open but if you find it open you should go inside as it’s interior is amazing and possibly the richest gilded gold interior you’ll find in Lisbon.
