The Senhora da Piedade chapel is a small chapel built in the 14th century and renovated with new architectural additions made  in the 16th century. Outside of the floor, it looks mostly like a sixteenth century chapel, well kept and taken care off.
In the 19th century a very long stairs was added, starting in the centre of Tomar (close to the Templarios hotel) right up to the chapel.
The chapel is more interesting inside than out but it has an amazing view over Tomar and the castle of Tomar.
It’s an interesting historical site that you should visit either by car or by foot. If your travelling by foot, the stairs are long so be prepared!
