University of Coimbra photo gallery

The university of Coimbra is the oldest university in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world as it was established not too long after the birth of Portugal in 1290 and is being used as a university ever since.

The university has a lot of interesting and amazing buildings that are open to the public and can viewed all year round.
The library is one of the most impressive and you will often stand in line to view it as only a small group is allowed in per viewing.

Opening times are 1st November  2013 until 6st of april de 2014

The main square is free and has a great view over the entire city.
