A short time ago we received the great news that Web Summit will be held in Lisbon in 2016, 2017 and 2018! Web Summit was founded in Dublin in 2010 and has been a fast growing conference for technology related start ups and enterprises. The theme of the conference is internet related technology and in 2014 it brought 22000 entrepreneurs, researchers and technology innovators from all over the world to Dublin to partake in it.
In September Paddy Cosgrave, co founder of Web Summit announced that this trend setting conference will leave Dublin for 3 consecutive years 2016, 2017 and 2018 to Lisbon partly financed by Turismo de Lisboa, Turismo de Portugal and AICEP.
This will be an amazing business incentive for Lisbon and Portugal as a whole and we welcome it with open arms.
Web Summit has been the fastest growing technology conference ever and it cannot be compared to any other. The conference is fully network oriented creating real life networks, were one strengthens the other.
“While traditional conference companies fret over manually curating seating plans, compiling speaker lists and handpicking invites for networking events, we approach the challenge from a technical and mathematical point of view. We build algorithms that take into account who you are and who you might benefit from being on a pub crawl with or at a table with or in a meeting with.”
The fact that Web Summit is moving from our prior home town to our new home town is even more pleasing for Go Discover Portugal!
