Arraiolos, just 20Km from Evora, is a small medieval town crowned by a unique round plan castle from the 13th century. It is also the home of one of the more famous Alentejo wine producers and a unique coach museum on this tour learn all about this lovely town its museum, wine and vineyards.

 

Full Day

Come learn how Alentejo wine, a precious liquid, is made at one of the best wine cellar nearby Arraiolos, in upper Alentejo. Throughout  this tour you will have the opportunity to visit one of the most conceptualized producers of the region. Go through the vineyards and discover some old methods used in wine production, which at this winery have been preserved and are still used to provide the unique flavours of the wine.

You will visit the cellar and enjoy a wine tasting session that will take you trough an exciting voyage of flavours. While you learn all about these specific wines.
You will also be given the opportunity to visit one of the Europe´s biggest private museum of harnesses and carriage. Wonderful pieces that go back to different eras and styles.

In the afternoon you will freely visit Arraiolos, a medieval village known by its incredible secular handmade tapestries. Take some time to get to know this incredible piece of art, and visit this lovely very typical Alentejo village heritage.

At the end of the day you will be brought back to Evora, the starting point of this tour.
