The area is The Serra da Arrábida protected natural park 30 KM from Lisbon
The Serra da Arrábida is composed of green mountains edged by high cliffs that make their way down to sandy beaches along the blue coastline just south of Lisbon. You will be amazed that such an area exists so close to the large urban capital of Portugal.
The area lends itself perfectly to active and relaxing pastime, cycling, walking, coasteering, kayaking, diving, swimming, jeep safaris, nature discoveries and many group and team building activities.
It is speckled with historical villages and monumental towns well worth a visit.
It’s gastronomy is based on its large offer of fish and seafood, it’s cheeses of which Azoia’s White Cheese is the most famous made from the sheep milk produced by the sheep that graze the green mountainous landscape. It has a score of sweet delicacies that are unique to the area and create moments of true indulgence. It is also well known for it’s honey produce known as the Zimbramel.
The area produces many fine wines and is situated in the Setubal wine region best known for its fortified wines, the Moscatel de Setubal, a pungent, floral aroma and a raison spicy character typify this unique fine wine.
