Casa das Torres de Oliveira wine quinta and hotel Where wine makes history
The Casa das Torres de Oliveira hotel is a manor house farm hotel and wine producer situated in the world heritage terraces of the Douro valley
The house was built by Dr. Jose De Souza e Faria sixth-grandfather of actual owners, in 1740 in the same place until then had remained for centuries, the ancient house of the noble family Mansilha.
The construction site was carefully chosen, giving views over the terraced lands stretching towards the sea and creating the possibility for the agricultural wine production on a vast scale.
In 1999 the family decided to open the grounds to the public and create this very special hotel in the mid of the vineyards that to this day produces the excellent wines the Quinta (manor house farm) has on offer.
The grapes grown on the porperty are the Touriga Franca, Touriga National, Tinta Barroca and Bastardo which are than fermented in half barrels made of new French and American oak.
The wines it produces are Consensual and Sedinhas.
The house prides itself on it´s friendly and open hospitality and you will be treated like a family guest during your stay there making it an experience you will possibly cherish for a long time.
