Dolphin watching Lagos, Algarve is a wonderful boat trip with guaranteed views of dolphins because when you do not get to see them you will receive a free replacement trip. The trip leaves from the beach, Praia da Luz and is 1.30 hours long.
The trips are dolphin and environmental friendly conducted in a low consumption RIB (rigid inflatable boat) that fits up to 14 people. For larger groups there are more boats available.

Dolphin sightings are very frequent and some of the species you will be able to observe are the Common dolphin (Delphinus delphis), the Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus), the Rissos dolphin (Grampus griseus) and the little and “shy” Harbor Porpoise (Phocoena phocoena), considered a vulnerable species. As well as dolphins you can also be lucky enough to catch site of the Minke Whale (Balaenoptera acutorostrata), the Orca (Orcinus orca) or the Striped dolphin (Stenella coeruleoalba).

From other animal groups, we sometimes come across sea turtles, such as the Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) and the Green turtle (Chelonia mydas), sharks such as the Basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus), the Hammer shark (Sphyrna spp.) and the Blue shark (Prionace glauca), and numerous seabirds like the Gannet (Morus bassanus), Corys shearwater (Calonectris diomedea), several Sea swallows (Sterna spp.) and Seagulls (Larus spp.).

Other than that the trip is a wonderful sea experience along the gorgeous Algarve shore, The Praia da Luz and Lagos on the warmest shore of Europe.

The boats of Dolphin watching Lagos are light weight, fast and silent. All participants have to wear a life jacket provided by the organisers.
