The Portuguese national song of Fado recently became UNESCO world heritage and it celebrates all that is Portuguese in a unique and traditional manner, sometimes merry, sometimes sad but always reflective of the life in Portugal and in Lisbon over the years.
The Resident singers of the Adega Machado are Marco Rodrigues (also artistic director), Isabel Noronha, Pedro Moutinho and Joana Veiga.

The ADEGA MACHADO was founded in 1937 by The composer and violist Mr. Armando Machado and the Fado singer Mrs. Maria de Lourdes Machado, they created it to celebrate their joint love for the Fado and it is one of the Lisbon fado houses with the most prestige.
Presently, together with the new owners the Group FADO & FOOD, the singer/viola player and artistic director Marco Rodrigues establishes a programme in the path of the historical traditions of the ADEGA MACHADO, that is: creating togetherness between the resident Artists and other well-known names as Guests performers, offering memorable evenings.
