the bustling hearth of the busy, going out Bairro Alto district of Lisbon on the rua de
Atalaia.
Petiscos are Portuguese Tapas and even though less known internationally, Portugal also has a rich history and a large menu of regional tapas
This restaurant has an extended meu of Petiscos from all over Portugal and a few main courses.
They also have an interesting wine list and occasionally fado.
Some of the petiscos on their menu are
Tiborna de bacalhau – A typical broa ( a sturdy traditional Portuguese bread) with Bacalhau (salted, dried codfish) toast
Tiborna de presunto e figos – Broa with ham and figs
Peixinhos da Horta – deep fried green beans in batter
Chouriço assado – Portuguese Chorizo burned in alcohol
Ovos mexidos com farinheira – Scrambled eggs with the traditional farinheira sausage
Pataniscas de bacalhau – deep fried batter and bacalhau cakes
Moelas – chicken gizzards
Charutos de alheira com molho de azeitona – Typical Portuguese alheira sausage with olive sauce.
Choquinhos à Algarvia – Algarve style cuttlefish amongst many others.
They also serve a few main courses and have a large wine list.
On Sunday’s they organize fado nights with the singer Alice Pires.
