Hotel Companhia das Culturas is a hotel based on ecotourism and sustainable organic agritourism.

The hotel is set in 40 hectares of stone pines, cork oaks and carob trees, apricots and figs, olive oil and a vegetable garden, where the produce is harvested and used in the restaurant daily. The Hotel Companhia das Culturas has its own haman ffree to use by its guest and reservably by others. Thee steam baths orinially from Turkey help to deep cleanse the skin and airways and promotes deep relaxation. The hotel has a cork box, a building entirely lined with cork where yoga, tai.chi, qigong or dance are practised and the hotel is actively involved in the the transformation of the farm’s fruit into jams, vinegars and chutneys, and of the local materials and techniques – cane, palm, southern cattail and junk – into objects of contemporary use.

The hotel is situated in the utmost eastern point of the Algarve close to the Spanish border and 1.5km from the beach.

There are 9 rooms – 3 suites, 3 double rooms and 3 twins – and 4 apartments. They are all different, all adapted to the pre-existing old farm buildings where the whitewash of the walls, the levelled concrete and the cork prevail.

The interiors follow the same ethical and esthetical principles of the architecture rebuilding, combining objects and furniture from different historical periods and styles.
