The Lisbon Tour That Actually Feeds You
Most city tours hand you facts and dates and expect you to be grateful. This one hands you a glass of wine instead. A few hours, three neighbourhoods, and two to four venues depending on preference and budget, plus a whole lot of petiscos, the Portuguese answer to tapas and a far better excuse to stop walking for a while.
You’ll wander from the flat, grid-planned Baixa up through the polished cafes of Chiado and into the tangle of Bairro Alto, tasting your way through the city instead of just photographing it.
Relaxation with a fork in hand
Two to four venues depending on preference and budget, ranging from old-school traditional to unapologetically trendy, none of them tourist traps with laminated menus.
One glass, red or white, at every single stop. Nobody’s rushing you back onto the pavement between bites.
Short and flat, or long with a few hills thrown in, the route is planned around what your group actually wants to walk.
Every group is different, so pricing is built around your numbers, preferences, and budget rather than a fixed rate per head.
Built around your group, not a fixed map
We used to run one set route for everybody. We don’t anymore. Walking from Bairro Alto up to Alfama looks great on paper and feels brutal on a full stomach, so now every route is planned around what your group actually wants: short or long, flat or with a few hills, tourist-friendly landmarks or backstreet finds. Below are a few of the neighbourhoods and venues that regularly make the cut.
The classic, low-effort option
The grid streets rebuilt after the 1755 earthquake keep things flat and simple. A popular pick when the group wants minimal walking and maximum tasting, with an old-school venue serving petiscos the way they’ve always been made.
The polished middle ground
A short climb up from Baixa into Lisbon’s most elegant district, worth it for a more refined stop with better lighting and a wine list that actually gets talked about. Good for groups who want a bit of a stroll without a proper hike.
The trendy option, if your group’s up for it
Sits higher up and takes more legwork to reach, so it’s saved for groups who don’t mind a climb. The district turns into Lisbon’s liveliest nightlife strip after sunset, and the venue here is trendy and modern, a good excuse to stick around once the tour officially ends.
Two start times daily, 12pm or 6pm, tours run all year round. Rain, shine, or Lisbon’s occasional both-at-once.
Native guides who actually know their wine
Every guide is Lisbon born and certified in tours, wine, or gastronomy, not a script reader with a laminated card. They know which tasca has been in the same family for three generations and which one just started doing something interesting with bacalhau.
