In the historic centre of Evora, within the UNESCO World Heritage area, M’AR De Ar Aqueduto occupies a fifteenth-century palace once home to the Sepulveda family – its chapel, vaulted ceilings and three Manueline windows preserved intact.
Built around the principles of modern architecture and design, this boutique hotel offers a 220m² spa, 64 rooms, and Degust’AR, the in-house restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine by Chef Antonio Nobre. Meeting and event spaces are spread across the Palace and the former Sao Mancos College, with the chapel and its adjoining areas offering a striking setting for social and cultural events for up to 200 guests.

The former Chapel, with its striking acoustics and soaring ceiling, opens through three large archways into the Maidens Room – the largest space in the complex. Both rooms have direct access to the exterior and the inner courtyard, useful as a reception area for event participants.

Weddings
Overlooking the Roman Wall and the Prata Aqueduct, M’AR De Ar Aqueduto is a striking setting for weddings. The bride and groom have several naturally lit spaces at their disposal within the historic Palace and College, including the divisible Manueline Room and the former Chapel – now a large room with distinctive acoustics – which opens onto the Maidens Room. A large terrace offers space for part of the celebration outdoors, framed by views over the aqueduct.
