Porto Brandão is a small town directly across the Tagus river and reachable with a ferry boat that provides transfers every 30 minutes between the Cais do Sodre station and the sleepy port.
Since ancient times Porto Brandão served as the port for the transport of goods and people from the south of Portugal and African colonies to Lisbon.
In current times it is a sleepy port mostly visited for its water side restaurants, the ferry crossing and views of Lisbon from the opposite side of the Tagus.
