Scuba diving in the Algarve is becoming more and more popular.
The Atlantic ocean that borders the coast line of Portugal is rich in sea life and offers fantastic wreck diving opportunities.
The exclusive dive centre in Alvor, Algarve, Portugal is relatively new started in 2009 and provides many diving possibilities and courses for those who want to become fully certified PADI divers.
The diving school operates from the Dom João II hotel in Alvor and have a highly experienced team of multi-lingual PADI dive instructors. Exclusive Divers dive school offer all PADI courses from beginner try dives all the way up to PADI Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response. You can discover scuba diving in the Algarve, by first learning the basics in the hotel pool, which has a depth of 4 meters making it ideal for practicing your first dives and only progressing to open water in Algarve diving once you are comfortable in the water and have achieved all required diving certification.
Wreck diving is possible at 4 main wrecks of the Algarve coast, the most famous is te Vilhelm Krag which sank during the first world war in 1917 just of the coast of Sagres (read more on wrecksite.eu)
The exclusive divers work hard at projects that raise environmental and social awareness movements related to scuba diving in the Algarve and Portugal.
Some of these projects include the “Clean Beaches” Campaign and “Project Aware”. This enables Exclusive Diving Algarve to promote good scuba diving practices in the Algarve and Portugal with local socio-economic and cultural groups such as fishermen.
They also promote Workshops on Marine Biology and Ecology for young people (10/16 years old) during school holidays. They hold regular seminars on Marine Etho-Ecology and advise and help National and International Research Programs and Projects related to diving in the Algarve and Portugal.
