The SYMINGTONs are a family of British origin but with a very Portuguese heart, Port and Douro wine producers who have been experiencing the world of wine and, in particular, the Douro like very few others for over 130 years.

Therefore, when choosing a partner for a bold restoration project, it was necessary to find someone with common ideals, who shared the dedication, commitment and love for gastronomy, something that he found in SAGARDI. Basque catering group, created by IñakiLz. de Viñaspre and his family for more than 20 years, and who are now integrated across various parts of the world, in more than 32 restaurants, something only possible due to rigor and a tradition based on product excellence and high quality cuisine.

GASTRONOMY

Vinum presents a high quality gastronomic proposal, which brings to the table the best traditions of the Douro, Trás-os-Montes, Minho and the Atlantic that bathe Portugal: Alheira de Mirandela PGI, Fish from the Matosinhos Market and meat exclusive to old cows from Trás-os-Montes are some of the classics that can be tasted. Along with these traditional dishes, you can also taste the best of Basque parrilla and contemporary dishes of international reference, such as tartare, sea bass with mushrooms, foiegra dishes and oxtail stewed in organic wine.

WINES

In addition to a well-kept wine cellar and excellent wine service, Vinum é Vinho, which is why the restaurant’s dishes were created especially to harmonize with the Douro DOC and Port wines produced with mastery by the Symington family, as well as with wines produced by their friends, in Portugal and around the world, with whom they shared their passion for such a noble product.

RESTAURANT

Vinum is the extension of the 19th century caves where the famous Graham’s Port wines were aged. The main room of the restaurant breathes this same world of wine, with historic pine beams supported by iron pillars from 1890 and a unique view of around 3200 barrels of wine aging in the caves.

A historic room, restored to create a unique and desirable atmosphere where we are invited to live and feel the glory of wine alongside the best food the city has to offer.

In the extension of the main room is the Atrium – our winter garden, where you can enjoy, both day and night, a breathtaking landscape and one of the most beautiful views of Portugal and Europe. Overlooking the historic city of Porto (World Heritage Site by UNESCO), the Douro River and the unique Dom Luís Bridge, few restaurants in the world can provide this atmosphere and setting.

WINE BAR

In addition to the restaurant, Vinum has a Wine Bar, complemented by a terrace overlooking the Douro, where you can live and breathe wine and the city in perfect harmony. In addition to an extensive wine list, with a strong selection of wines by the glass, the Wine Bar and Terraço also offer a menu of more informal dishes, with light meals and dishes to share, with a special focus on premium Portuguese preserves, in the astras of the Ria Formosa and in very traditional snacks.

EVENTS

The Graham’s visitor center has around 12 rooms, with different environments and different configurations, suitable for holding all types of social events, such as conferences, meetings, training sessions or workshops, with capacity for groups of 12 to 600 people.
